The Just Older Youth Club

   
Mission:  The purpose of the club is to promote and provide opportunities for seniors to particiapte in wholesome, social recreation; church-related activities, and mission projects of special interest to seniors.
   
 

Meetings: The Club meets on the first Tuesday of each month September through May of each year, and meetings are held in the Fellowship Hall of the Church. Meetings begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. and adjourn near 12:15 p.m. Programs of interest including music, humor and education are presentd by invited providers, and a bountiful meal is served

(cost for the meal is $5.00).

 

Membership: Club membership shall be open to anyone who is either retired or a minimum of fifty years old and who pays applicable, membership dues.

($9.00 for program year plus $1.00 for special ministries)

Floyd Parker

A 2003 retiree of the Greater Gaston Baptist Association, Floyd Parker’s life has

been filled by his love for music. He served some twenty years as Minister of Music

in Baptist churches following his four-year tour in the Marine Corp during which

time he played trombone in the 2nd Division Marine Band. While in junior and senior

high school, Floyd played the baritone horn in the school bands. In the sixth grade,

he played the cornet. He grew up loving the music of the church. Floyd has maintained

his interest and skills in playing musical instruments.
