Dr. Ray Ammons Ray became the pastor of First Baptist in June, 2005. His previous pastorate included Mt. Pisgah Baptist in Fayetteville, N.C. , Bakersville Baptist in N.C. and Corn Creek Baptist in Milton, KY. He and his wife Cathy have two daughters, Rachel and Allyson. Cathy Holland Cathy started working at First Baptist in November of 2006. She has been working with youth for over 25 years. Her desire is to provide an environment for young people to grow in their knowledge of the scriptures and in their relationship with the Lord. She is married to Andy Holland. JoLynn Prochaska Minister to Children & Families JoLynn came to First Baptist in the fall of 2006. She grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC, and then attended Winthrop University for her undergraduate degree in Education. JoLynn taught at both the elementary and middle school levels before attending Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Alice M. Foy Alice has served First Baptist Church faithfully for twenty-four and 1/2 years as Financial Secretary and the last five years as Administrative/Financial Assistant. Alice is native of Clover, SC and has lived in Gastonia for forty-two years. She and her husband Clyde are the parents of Robbie and Tracy and the grandparents of Elizabeth and Rebecca. Shannon Greene Interim Director, Childcare ministries Shannon came to First Baptist in 1999. She and her husband Burt are the parents of Cody and Jordyn. Shannon feels that working with the children and families of First Baptist Childcare Ministries has been and is an amazing experience. |
